The principal function of the browser assistance would be to provide a list of computers sharing methods in a client's domain plus a list of other domain and workgroup brands throughout the wide-area network (WAN). This record is offered to customers that view system resources with Network Neighbor hood or the WEB VIEW command.
This is done by providing an MSRPC R_Wins Get Browser Names demand. These names, combined with the workgroup announcement datagrams obtained from the master windows through the WAN, build the full set of domain and workgroup names. The names discovered by workgroup announcements take precedence over those obtained from WINS. These workgroup and website titles also retain the title of the machine joining any given computer in the scan list. This operation is done with respect to the client by its browser and is called a double-hop. The PDC merges all the lists collected by the master browsers on each portion throughout the WAN. Every 12 minutes, the master browser connects to the PDC to acquire the domain-wide record.
Because the browser assistance is bound by broadcast pieces and its own separate list is maintained by each master browser, there should be ways to merge these databases into a simple domain-wide list. This functionality is not needed for network protocols other than Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). More on our site
